How to Reset a Forgotten Password

Forgetting a password happens to everyone. Whether you set up your KiddyCash account last week in Nairobi or months ago and cannot recall what you typed, this guide walks you through recovering access safely — step by step, from scratch.

What is a password reset?

A password reset lets you create a brand-new password without knowing your old one. KiddyCash does this by sending a temporary verification link or code to the email address tied to your account. Once you confirm your identity, you can choose a new password and log back in.

Note: If you have never created an account before, you do not need a password reset — visit How to Sign Up for KiddyCash instead.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • Access to the email address you used when you registered on KiddyCash
  • A stable internet connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi)
  • Your phone or computer nearby to check your inbox

Steps to reset your password

  1. Open the password reset page. Go directly to https://kiddy.cash/reset-password in your browser. You can do this on any device — phone, tablet, or laptop.

  2. Enter your registered email address. Type the email you signed up with into the field provided. Double-check the spelling. If you have multiple email addresses, think about which one you used when creating your KiddyCash account.

  3. Click “Send Reset Link”. KiddyCash will send a password reset link to that email address. This usually arrives within one to two minutes.

  4. Check your inbox. Open your email app and look for a message from KiddyCash. The subject line will say something like “Reset your KiddyCash password.”

Tip: If you do not see it in your main inbox, check your Spam or Junk folder. Email providers like Gmail sometimes filter automated messages.

  5. Click the reset link inside the email. The link is valid for a short time — usually 30 minutes. Click it before it expires. It will open a secure page on KiddyCash.

  6. Type your new password. Choose a password that is at least 8 characters long and includes a mix of letters and numbers. Avoid easy-to-guess combinations like your phone number or birthdate.

  7. Confirm your new password. Type the same password again in the confirmation field to make sure there are no typos.

  8. Click “Reset Password”. If both fields match, KiddyCash will update your password immediately.

  9. Log in with your new password. You will be redirected to the login screen. Enter your email and your new password to access your account. If your account uses one-time passcodes instead, read How to Log In with Email and OTP for next steps.
