How to view a business transaction code

A transaction code is a unique identifier — displayed as a QR code or a short alphanumeric code — that customers scan or enter to complete a payment at your business. Whether you run a school canteen in Nairobi, a toy shop in Lagos, or any KiddyCash-enabled business, transaction codes let you accept payments from kids’ wallets quickly and without cash.

This article explains how to open an existing transaction code and review its details in the KiddyCash Business portal.

Before you start: You must have already created at least one transaction code. If you haven’t done that yet, see How to create a business transaction code.

What you’ll need

  • A KiddyCash Business account with a verified business (KYB completed)
  • At least one transaction code created for your business
  • A browser or the KiddyCash Business app

Steps to view a transaction code

  1. Log in to the KiddyCash Business portal at business.kiddy.cash.

  2. Select your business. If you manage more than one business, choose the correct one from the business switcher at the top of the dashboard.

  3. Go to Transaction Codes. In the left-hand navigation menu, click Transaction Codes. You’ll see a list of all the codes created for that business.

  4. Find the transaction code you want to view. You can scroll through the list or use the search bar to filter by name or code value.

  5. Click the transaction code name to open its detail view.

  6. Review the code details. The detail page shows the following information:

FieldWhat it means
Code nameThe label you gave this code when creating it (e.g. “Lunch – KES 150”)
Transaction code (alphanumeric)The short code customers can type in manually
QR codeA scannable image customers use with the KiddyCash family app

CampaignAny active campaign linked to this code (see below)
StatusWhether the code is active or inactive
Date createdWhen the code was first generated
  1. Download or share the QR code using the Download QR button if you need to print it for display at your till point or counter.

About campaigns on transaction codes

If your transaction code is linked to a campaign — a promotional rule that awards badges or bonuses when customers transact — you’ll see the campaign name listed in the detail view. Campaigns are a powerful way to reward kids for spending at your business.

Need to make changes?

Viewing a transaction code is read-only. If you need to update the code name, amount, or linked campaign, see How to update a business transaction code.
