How to view kid business transactions
A transaction is a record of money moving in or out of an account — for example, a payment received from a customer or a withdrawal made by the business owner. If you run a business on KiddyCash, every shilling that flows through your business account is recorded as a transaction.
This article shows you how to open and read the transaction list for your kid-run business.
Before you start
Make sure you have already set up your business on KiddyCash. If you haven’t done that yet, follow the steps in How to create a kid-run business first, then come back here.
You can also view all your kid-run businesses from your dashboard if you need to check which business account you want to open.
What you will need
- Your KiddyCash login details
- At least one business already created on your account
- Your business ID — a short code that identifies your specific business (you can find this on your business profile page)
Steps: Open your business transaction list
-
Log in to your KiddyCash account at kiddy.cash.
-
From your dashboard, tap My Businesses in the bottom navigation bar.
-
Find the business whose transactions you want to view, then tap its name to open the business profile.
-
On the business profile page, tap Transactions. This takes you directly to your business transaction list. You can also navigate there directly using your business ID:
https://kiddy.cash/kiddy-business/:business_id/transactionReplace
:business_idwith the actual ID shown on your business profile. -
Your full transaction history will load on the screen.
Understanding the transaction list
Each row in the list is one transaction. Here is what the columns mean:
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Date | When the transaction happened |
| Description | A short note about the transaction — for example, “Customer payment” or “Withdrawal” |
| Transaction code | A unique reference number for that transaction. Useful if you need help from support |
| Amount (KES) | How much money moved. Green means money came in; red means money went out |
| Balance | Your business account balance after that transaction |
Tip for Kenyan users: If a customer paid you through M-Pesa, the transaction code shown here matches the M-Pesa confirmation message they received. You can use this to confirm a payment was received before handing over goods.
What to do if a transaction looks wrong
- Check the transaction code and note it down.
- Tap the transaction row to see the full details.
- If something still does not make sense, contact KiddyCash support and share the transaction code — this helps the team find the record quickly.
Why tracking transactions matters
Keeping an eye on your business money is one of the most important habits a young entrepreneur can build. Understanding where your money comes from and where it goes is also the first step toward bigger financial concepts — like investing. If you are curious about that, the articles Why investing is a concept kids can learn younger than you think and How to explain investing to a child without the jargon are great places to start.
