How to view a business account balance
Your business account on KiddyCash holds the funds your business uses to pay out allowances, run campaigns, and manage subscriptions for families and schools. Knowing your current balance at a glance helps you stay on top of payouts — whether you’re disbursing school fees in Nairobi or running a back-to-school campaign across Kenya.
This article walks you through checking the balance and status of a single business account on the KiddyCash Business portal.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- An active KiddyCash Business account (KYB verified)
- At least one business account created under your business profile
- Your login credentials for the KiddyCash Business portal
What is a business account? A business account is a sub-wallet tied to your KiddyCash business profile. It holds a balance in KES (or your configured currency) and is used to fund allowances, campaigns, and other payouts to family wallets. It is separate from a family account — if you want to understand how family accounts work, see how to create a family account.
Steps to view your business account balance
-
Log in to the KiddyCash Business portal at kiddy.cash using your registered business email and password.
-
Navigate to your business dashboard. After logging in, you will land on your main business dashboard. This shows a summary of your active business accounts.
-
Open the specific business account. Click on the business account you want to inspect. Each account is listed with its account name and a short account ID. You can also go directly to an account using a URL in this format:
https://kiddy.cash/business/:business_id/account/:business_account_idReplace
:business_idwith your business ID and:business_account_idwith the ID of the account you want to view. Both IDs are visible in your dashboard and in your account settings. -
Read the balance summary. The account detail page shows the following information:
Field What it means Available balance Funds ready to use for payouts or campaigns right now Pending balance Funds in transit — for example, an M-Pesa top-up that hasn’t fully settled Reserved balance Funds locked against active campaigns or scheduled allowances Account status Whether the account is Active, Suspended, or Closed Currency The currency of this account, typically KES Last updated Timestamp of the most recent transaction or balance change -
Check the account status. If your account status shows Suspended, you will not be able to send payouts until the issue is resolved. Contact KiddyCash support with your account ID for help.
-
Review recent transactions (optional). Scroll down on the same page to see a list of recent credits and debits. Each transaction includes a transaction code you can use when contacting support or reconciling records.
Tips
- If you manage multiple business accounts, bookmark the direct URL for each account to save time.
- Top-ups via M-Pesa may take a few minutes to reflect in your available balance. Check the pending balance field first before assuming a top-up has failed.
- To understand how balances work for families receiving your payouts, read how to view your family account balance.
- Allowances are a core part of how KiddyCash works. If you’re new to the concept, why allowances matter for modern families and how allowances work as a family financial tool are good starting points.
